Please take a moment to read my letter and see if you can help my cause this year.  Attached you will find the form to make a Contribution to All In For A Cure Charity Poker Tournament.

Hello,

I am writing you today to request support for a noteworthy and often overlooked Cause that I have been actively supporting and hold closely to my heart.  With a 99% mortality rate, Pancreatic Cancer is the least funded cause of any leading cancer.  I have teamed up with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in its efforts to raise awareness and funding.

On April 10th of this year, my dad lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  After 4 ½ years battling this non-curable disease; my hero became a part of measly percentage of people who survive with this cancer past 3-6 months.  Research has established that the median survival after being diagnosed is 3-6 months.  We were lucky.

As high school sweethearts, my parents had been married for 35 years. Memories of my dad helping my brother and I put together our toys at Christmas when were just kids or walking me out to the car as I was leaving to give me a hug all the while encouraging me to be strong  and that he loved me are very raw to me to this day.

During the last few months of his life, he had grown very weak, lost a lot of weight and started to sleep all the time. He had lost all of his hair from the ongoing chemo-therapy and often lay in bed very sick. My mom never left his side, no matter how difficult it was for her to see my dad wither away before our eyes. Saying goodbye to him at such an early age is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I loved my dad so very dearly and miss him so much.  I can't bring my father back, but what I can do is continue to make a difference for so many other families.

Since my dad's diagnosed, I have been advocating for Pancreatic Cancer.  Three years ago, I started a non-profit event, "All in for a Cure Charity" Poker Tournament to aid the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in its efforts to raise awareness and research efforts. Last year with great success we raised over $5,000.  This year we would like to reach $10,000 in honor of my dad.  As a son looking to honor my father, I am asking for you to consider helping others in this increasing familiar situation by making a contribution to my efforts.

My dad's strength, courage and will enabled him to battle this terrible disease for 4 ½ years.  It is my responsibility and duty as his son to continue where he left off; fighting this disease one hand at a time.

I thank you in advance,
Neil Belliveau
